—Plan early, build like you planned—
Our client in Southern Maryland has a new construction, custom home. It's bright and stunning! Often times, though, with new constructions you get a house, and the landscaping is "builder grade" simply because builders aren't usually landscapers too. So unless you go through the added expense of hiring a landscape architect, or get lucky with builders and landscapers like Mellman Construction, you won't always get the beautiful thoughtful landscaping and exterior planning that elevates your new build an inviting home.
This particular client is on a water front property with surrounding wetlands so for several days after each rain, their driveway was overflowed with persistent mud. In Maryland that can mean months of muddy mess in their front yard (and getting dragged into the house). Drainage needed to be addressed and finding a place for all that water to go on a lowland saturated property can be a challenge!
Our client asked us to develop a master plan including the elements of a driveway loop and flagpole.
